Biography

Greg Grant reports on national security and foreign affairs from Washington, DC. He currently writes for Government Executive Magazine and the National Journal Group. His work has appeared in Jane's Defence Weekly, Defense Technology International, Foreign Policy magazine, Defense News, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times and The Chicago Tribune.

He has reported from on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan. He was embedded with the first unit to enter Baghdad during the invasion of Iraq in spring 2003, and spent five months in Iraq in 2005.

He has an M.A. in strategic studies from Johns Hopkins' School of Advanced International Studies. He also worked for six years as a military analyst at CSIS, in Washington, DC.

Raised in Salt Lake City, he worked for almost nine years as a professional mountain guide, before becoming a journalist.
